參賽資格 (參賽者需同時符合下列各條件)

大專組–非英語相關科系:

1)      台灣各大學、科技大學、技術學院之非英語相關科系學士班在學學生。(外語相關科系、翻譯系所、語言相關科系輔系、雙主修均不得參加)

2)      具有中華民國國籍,且非以英語為母語之在學學生。

3)      未曾在英語系國家居住超過六個月(含)以上者。

4)      未曾在英語系國家或英語(含雙語)學校求學(含留學、遊學及交換學生)累計就讀超過六個月(含)以上者。

5)      個人參賽兩人一組組隊報名,可經由各校承辦單位選派或自由報名(限同校)。

6)      主辦單位得視報名狀況提早結束或延長報名時間。

7)      決賽入圍隊伍以15組為原則,視實際情況增減隊伍。

8)     若學生認為自身資格未涵蓋於上述規定,可向主辦方提出,但主辦方保有最終決定之權利。

大專組–英語相關科系:

1)      台灣各大學、科技大學、技術學院之英語相關科系學士班在學學生。 (包含語言學、翻譯系所)

2)      具有中華民國國籍,且非以英語為母語之在學學生。

3)      未曾在英語系國家居住超過六個月(含)以上者。

4)      未曾在英語系國家或英語(含雙語)學校求學(含留學、遊學及交換學生)累計就讀超過六個月(含)以上者。

5)      個人參賽,可經由各校承辦單位選派或自由報名。

6)     主辦單位得視報名狀況提早結束或延長報名時間。

7)      決賽入圍以15名為原則,視實際情況增減名額。

8)     若學生認為自身資格未涵蓋於上述規定,可向主辦方提出,但主辦方保有最終決定之權利。

高中組: 

1)      台灣公私立高中職(含五專一年級~三年級)在學學生。

2)      具有中華民國國籍,且非以英語為母語之在學學生。

3)      未曾在英語系國家居住超過六個月(含)以上者。

4)      未曾在英語系國家或英語(含雙語)學校求學(含留學、遊學及交換學生)累計就讀超過六個月(含)以上者。

5)      個人參賽,須經由各校承辦單位選派,各校推派至多五名學生為限。 (在家自學學生根據《高級中等教育階段辦理非學校型態實驗教育辦法》取得市政府教育局戳章與監護人同意後,可自行報名參賽。)

6)      主辦單位得視報名狀況提早結束或延長報名時間。

7)      決賽入圍以15名為原則,視實際情況增減名額。

8)       若學生認為自身資格未涵蓋於上述規定,可向主辦方提出,但主辦方保有最終決定之權利。

Eligibility

  All contestants must meet the following requirements:

College Group

Participants in the non-English major speech competition contest must be:

1) Undergraduate students currently studying a non-English major at a University/ University of Technology/ Institute of Technology in Taiwan. 

(Students from foreign language-related departments, departments of translation, and those minoring in or double majoring in language-related departments are not eligible.)

2) Current students who have ROC nationality, official student status, and whose mother tongue is not English.

3) Students who have never lived or studied in any English-speaking country for six months or longer.

4) Students who have not studied in a district English/bilingual school for more than three years in total since the age of six.

5) Entries must consist of individuals or teams of two (who must be from the same school), formed either voluntarily or by their school.

6) Registration deadlines may be subjected to early termination or extension. 

7) The number of participants in the final round is set at 15. 

8) Students who feel that the question of their eligibility is not adequately covered by the regulations given above, can appeal to the discretion of the contest organizers for a final decision. 

Participants in the English major individual speech contest must be:

1) Undergraduate students currently studying at a University/University of Technology/Institute of Technology in Taiwan. 

2) Current students who have ROC nationality, official student status, and whose mother tongue is not English.

3) Students who have never lived or studied in any English-speaking country for six months or longer.

4) Students who have never studied in a district English/bilingual school for more than three years in total since the age of six.

5) Students must participate individually, either self-selected or selected by their school.

6) Registration deadlines may be subjected to early termination or extension. 

7) The number of participants in the final round is set at 15. 

8) Students who feel that the question of their eligibility is not adequately covered by the regulations given above, can appeal to the discretion of the contest organizers for a final decision. 

High School Group

Participants in the poetry recitation must be:

1) High school students currently studying in public/private high schools in Taiwan. (Grade 1-3 junior college students are included.) 

2) Current students who have ROC nationality, official student status, and whose mother tongue is not English.

3) Students who have never lived or studied in English-speaking countries for six months or longer.

4) Students who have never studied in a district English/bilingual school or an English speaking country (this includes exchange programs, studying abroad, and study tours) for six months or longer. 

5) Students who are selected by their respective schools.

(Home-schooled students, according to the Non-School Mode Regulation of Experimental Education, can sign up for the competition. On the home-schooled student’s registration form, he or she has to replace the Official School Seal and Teacher’s Signature with the City Government Education Bureau’s official seal and the guardian’s signature.)

6) Students must be registered under the name of their schools. (Please note that only 1 to 5 contestant(s) from each school will be accepted.)  

7) Registration deadlines may be subjected to early termination or extension. 

8) The number of participants in the final round is set at 15. 

9) Students who feel that the question of their eligibility is not adequately covered by the regulations given above, can appeal to the discretion of the contest organizers for a final decision. 

The contest will be conducted in two phases: a preliminary round, and a final round.
